An extra duplicate of information or data put away on optional capacity media is called the backup of data. The common media for backup are magnetic tape, zip disk, USB flash drive, optical disk and hard disk etc.
The computer can be damaged due to many reasons. Any type of data that stored on the system may also be lost, delete, or altered. Sometimes the data cannot be created again. For example, a PC in the bank system crashes inadvertently and information put away in it is lost.
IT Expert Solutions provides the best way of Data Backup.
Purposes of Backup:
The purpose behind data backup are as per the following:
• An important document can be lost incidentally.
• The client may overwrite a section or entire of a current document.
• A mechanical disappointment in the PC may result in loss of the information.
• A Virus may harm the information that put away in the PC.
• The computer system might be stolen by anyone.
• The computer system might be harmed because of flame or power failure.
Types of Backup:
There are two ways to take the backup of data:
1: Complete Backup:
Backup of all data on the hard disk is called complete backup. The advantages of this backup are that the entire hard disk is backed-up. The data can be stored from this backup in case of a problem in the system. It takes more time and storage capacity because the entire data of the hard disk is copied.
2: Incremental Backup:
Incremental Backup makes a duplicate of just the information that is recently made or changed since the last backup. This procedure is performed consequently in some software. In this type of backup, the entire disk is not copied. It takes less time and space then compete for backup.
Media Used for Data Backup:
Different types of media that can be used for data backup. The selection of media depends upon the nature and quantity of the data to be backed up.
Ø USB Flash Drive: USB Flash Drive is used for data backup. It is very easy to use it because it is light and small in size. It is available in different shapes, sizes, and capacities. The storage capacity of USB drive is 512 MB to 100 GB.
Ø External Hard Disk: It is a separate hard disk and is connected to a USB or FireWire port on the system unit. Its storage capacity is up to 4 TB and more. It can be used to backup important files or entire internal hard disk.
Ø Magnetic Tape: It is conventional and reliable media for backup. It is used for backing up several thousand million bytes of data. It is a more expensive media. The data stored on this media cannot be accessed randomly.
